10 Unhealthy Foods to Avoid For Better Health

While some foods will still be labeled as junk food (sometimes a little unfairly), some retain an aura of health not quite deserved.

Here is the Top 10.

10. Diet soft drinks

We already know that soft drinks are to be banned in our daily diet … But some people believe that if they are diet, that’s fine.
While it’s not because there are no calories, it’s good for us!

Diet sodas are filled with artificial ingredients and flavors, and often contain too much sodium. The artificial sweeteners used to give them their sweet taste is also highly controversial: some have already been linked to cancer in laboratories, some cause migraines, several studies claim that these drinks are linked to type 2 diabetes and weight gain. … In addition, these drinks damage the precious enamel of our teeth, increase the risk of osteoporosis, and many other happy things like that.

9. Microwave popcorn

When it’s time to nibble, it’s better to choose popcorn than chips, right? Especially if it is labeled as “light”? But not if it comes from a bag to burst in the microwave.

First, its smell is abominable. Second, even though it does not contain a lot of fat, it certainly contains a staggering amount of salt. And thirdly, the steam that escapes contains about fifty different chemicals, ranging from the artificial aroma of butter to the ink and glue used on the bag. One of these chemicals is really worse than others: diacetyl, which is super toxic when heated and turned into steam.

8. “Light” vinaigrettes and sauces

Does “light” mean “good for us”? Not often in the case of condiments. Salad dressings and sauces (mayonnaise type) that have been removed must still retain an attractive taste … So the companies fill them with a very long list of additives: a lot of sugar, sodium, thickening agents and of preservatives of all kinds, often with names to sleep outside.

In addition, we can never say it enough: fat is not bad (as long as you choose good fats). We need it! Many of the vitamins in fruits and vegetables in our salads are lipid-soluble, which means they are better absorbed with a little fat. That’s it!

7. Fruit yogurt

Yogurt is not bad for health, that’s for sure. It contains calcium, and sometimes also, beneficial probiotics. But most yogurts today contain so much sugar that these benefits are almost canceled. At a time when we are just beginning to realize the ravages of our hyper-sweet diet on our health, it’s hard to ignore.

6. Soy milk (flavored)

But soy is not good? Yes and no. If soy milk is not organic, it is most certainly transgenic. The phyto-oestrogens it contains are also not suitable for everyone, at least not in large quantities … And finally, flavored versions, vanilla or chocolate for example, also contain a mountain of sugar. And that’s probably not the best idea to add to our diet, right?

5.Multigrain bread

Multigrain simply means that the bread contains different grains, but not that they are whole grains. A multigrain bread could contain 98% refined white flour, with just a little bit of oatmeal and some form … It would not necessarily be bad for your health, but it would be a bit misleading as marketing and not the best choice no more.

4.Vegetable snack foods

Even if they contain a little vegetable powder, do not be fooled, they are crisps! They are made in the same way as Pringles, and then molded into rods. Their intake of vegetables is really small, and the product is so transformed that it has no benefit. You can eat from time to time, but do not think that is a healthy choice!

3.Soft bars

Whether tender bars that go so well in lunches, “energy” bars or protein bars often publicized for athletes, it is sometimes thought that they are a good snack. Yes, they contain (often) cereals and some fruits here and there … But their health side stops there. These are ultra-processed foods, full of sugar, artificial ingredients and fillers … The small portion of whole grain cereals is not worth it when it is drowned in corn syrup, chocolate, marshmallows, caramel, lark!

2.Fruit juice

Some fresh fruit juices are excellent for health … But do not think that you can drink as water and that replaces a portion of fruits and vegetables! All juices are not equal … Many commercial juices actually contain very little fruit, added sugar, artificial colors … And above all, since juices do not usually contain fiber, they do not cut hunger so we can “waste” a lot of empty calories as well!

1.Muffins “low in fat”

Again, “low fat” really does not mean good for health … These commercial muffins often look appetizing but usually have very little nutritional value: between their huge size, their white flour and their ton of sugar is almost a bomb for our system. Just eat a piece of cake for lunch!
